Since my layoff in February I have gotten into the habit of sleeping in. Now I get up at 6am instead of 4am:rolleyes:.Then I turn The Weather Channel for the local forecasts. This is coming to a screeching halt on July 20th!!!!

Al Roker is going to be on the 6am (cdst) shift starting on that date.:eek::eek:

I will have to get my weather reports online.:(

you'll be alright man. i don't have cable weather channel (baseline cable, 22 channels). so my only place to get the right now weather is on the www. it works just fine.
i use three different sites.

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...te=OAX&textField1=40.8164&textField2=-96.6882 that's my home page.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/trav...p/interactive/68503?from=36hr_topnav_business this one, i like the pretty fast display of the radar and cloud cover images that i put into motion...

http://www.wunderground.com/US/NE/Lincoln.html this one i like for the weather history + i use it to find out when sunset and sunup is. the radar is pretty good on here too..

with them three. i guess my own weather... usually i'm pretty right on too. considering i'm not a weatherman...

When it comes to weather and forecasting, is it just me or does it seem like forecasts are becoming less and less accurate with the advent of new technology? Seems like the local forecast is in a state of constant revision around here.

I tend to go over to accuweather.com. My experience has been that they actually do tend to be the most accurate.... even moreso than my local weather guys on TV.

I use an app called clickweather for my firefox browser. It puts current and forcasted weather reports on the useless bottom bar of the browser. You should check it out.

I use Wunderground, and NOAA for the weather. It's actually fairly accurate.

Interesting to me, though. Tomorrow's forcast is about 90% accurate, a week out is 60% or so. No way they can tell you what is going to happen in a month, but in a hundred years everybody is going to either fry or drown.

Thanks for the links guys.

If the "back to work" was directed at me well, I hate to say but I probably will be in forced retirement.I have actually gotten 2 interviews but saw the same thing in the faces of the interviewers."He's an old fat guy!!!!What could he possibly do for us?????"

Sorry off subject.

I just can't handle looking at Al Roker before getting fully awake.
