I picked this prop up as a cheap spare should the need ever arise for an on water replacement. They're not made anymore, and I'm not looking for a speed demon here...just a 'get me home' prop that can be easily stored.

Thing is...I don't get how its supposed to fit on the prop shaft...there just doesn't seem to be enough room for it? (Splines match, and its for a Mercruiser I/O...so I know that much.)

Anyone know how this is supposed to fit? I've emailed Michigan Wheel for installation instructions as there's virtually no info on them. (I did find that Michigan Wheel purchased the line from Gil Marine...)

If I pull the spacer out, I get a little more room, but not much:

Re: Gil Marine Six-Gun Composite Prop

Just to follow up on this thread. It ended up being the entirely wrong prop hub. I purchased another one, so I now have 2 sets of blades 17P & 19P.

I have no idea what the other hub (left) would even fit as the splines matched up...but the correct one is on the right. And this particular prop doesn't use any thrust washer, the taper is built into the hub.
