Gimbal bearing opinion video

Hello just wondering if this gimbal bearing is bad it seems a bit stiff and has slight play but makes no noise i just don't know how it is so pose to be ,changing shift cable out so maybe just Change it ,thanks Jd http://youtu.be/0dXQuaHfUoc

Ayuh,.... A gimbal bearin' is tested with yer fingers, not the alignment bar,...

Reach in there 'n turn it,...
Does it turn Smoothly,..??

If so, Run it,...

If not, replace it,...

Yes it's smooth,but does not spin fast

By hand, no greased bearing is going to freewheel. Grease is tacky.

When outdrive is in stalled ,does it turn as fast as the drive shaft spins? I would think it wood ,looks like I'm going to run it ��

Ayuh,.... Correct, it turns at crankshaft speeds,...

There is a step on the shaft that has a larger diameter. This is where the bearing rides. Not the same place where you are checking it.
