Gimbal bearing question.

I was checking the alignment yesterday and noticed that the gimbal bearing inner race has a bit of slop. I can wiggle the alignment bar up and down and side to side enough to prevent insertion of the tool into the coupler. I cannot recall that it had this much slop last season, but it may have had it all along. Should I replace the bearing? It spins smoothly, BTW.

wiggle as in loose in the bearing or loose where the inner bearing is moving but not the outer race or using some hand force to move the inner race in its "gimble".
some force is necessary cause you have to move the inner part to line it up with the coupler. It moves it around like your eyeball.

Just the inner race is loose, not the gimbal part of the bearing. I can see the outer race remains stationary but the inner race allows a bit of wiggle. It spins perfectly smoothly.

You shouldn't be able to easily wiggle anything in that bearing. To make the inner portion of the bearing "Gimbal" inside the outer race is not easily done.

Did you buy an alignment tool or are you still using the one you made a while back? Since you trailer, I would grease it and run it, Neil it starts complaining.

Using a tool a friend machined for me. I already have the bearing, might just swap it now. You got a puller I can use?
