I have two gimbal bearing and am trying to decide which to install. One is old style greaseable and the other is the perma-greased sealed version. Any input? I like knowing there is grease in there!

Whats this going on, year, drive etc...If your drive has a zerk fitting (Where the grease gun goes) use the greasable one.

Also make sure the open part of the ss band is aligned with the hole for the grease, mark this on the face of the brg and align with the grease hole from the transom mount. This will ensure better grease flow from the zerk.

Ayuh,... Agreed,... Use the Right 1 for your housing...

Re: Gimbal Installation Question

As far as using the "Right" one. The sealed gimbal came from SEI in a set for my Alpha 1 Gen II. Im not sure that all the newer gimbals arent the sealed type. I was talking to my paw in laws boat shop and they told me they have been installing the sealed gimbals for 6 months now with no issues. In fact they installed 2 on paw in laws sea ray, old alpha 1's.
