Gimble bearing replacement

Hello All, I have a 99 volvo 4.3 with the sx drive. I have been trying to pull the outdrive which is no big deal but getting the tilt rams off is a different story. Seems like they are corroded on. Any ideas on the easiest way to get these off? Also, and most important, can I replace the gimble with just the outdrive removed of do I need to remove the transom plate? Thanks

A Hacksaw will Work.............<br />You'll need new tilt pins,+ nuts......<br /><br />Once the outdrive is Off,<br />The Next thing you See, is the Gimbal Bearing......<br />Transom Shield Stays Put.............
