i am going to take my outdrive to the boat shop to get them fixed, what do you think is going to be the expected costs? to get them both resealed?

How long has it been since the drives have been off for inspection and maintenance

last fall (winter rates) it was 450 to reseal my outdrive

By MR series drives do you mean you've updated to Alpha One drives?They had R and MR types.

If so,aftermarket drives are around $1100.00 dealer cost,and a tad higher on EBAY.Also check prices here on IBOATS ! These are for complete outdrives,not your unit with new seals and old parts.

I'd get another quote, unless that price includes new gears. If so, DHP is dead on, aftermarket drives would be the way to go.
But I see on your other thread that you are considering repowering, maybe with outboards, do yourself a huge favor, the very first thing a boat owner should have to do by law, BUY A FACTORY MANUAL.

i have a manual and i am very mechanically handy, but i am hearing more and mor about outdrives, i could rebuild these things if i had the time but the Corps doesnt give me much of htat. the engines i have are sounds other than dirty carbs.

I am using an aftermarket drive in my Searay and it has been great. 1200.00 installed last fall after I found my drive needed more than resealing.
