I have a late 60's 17' Glasspar flying v. I bought for to use my 115 johnson on but found out its compression is shot on one cylinder. I hate to get rid of this boat, but I don't have a garage to restore in. I found a MFG Beachcomer with a good motor recently. The hull and gelcoat is in great shape. The top shell has to crack near the corners of the windshield. This could be repaired simply enough with a inside patch and epoxy filler. The previous owner put in a new floor using marine plywood. He didn't seal it well so I removed the back section and drained the water out. The rear stringer is wet and will need to be dried out good to see if there is any damage. The transom seems solid. The whole thing sounds good and solide when hit with a hammer. Bolt holes for motor seem solid. This boat would be easy to repair the stringer or transom if needed in the future as the back splashwell is bolted on., so you wouldn't have to remove the topshell. Its sitting on a skipper b trailer thats galvinized and is road worthy. I have a title for the trailer, but not the boat. I asked and they said I could get one easily by applying for one as a homemade boat. I hate to let this beauty go, but I want to sell it rather cheap to someone who has the intention of restoring and knows the work involved. The boat is rated for 110hp. The boat is located in East Peoria, IL. If interested I could email pictures or post some on this subject later.
