Glasspar w/1250 Mercury Kiekhaufer

I have a new boat---well to me it is, just got it out on the water this week. 1969 16' Glasspar Cutlas with a 1250 Thunderbolt Kiekhaufer OB, the prop was trashed so I put a SOLAS Amita 3 --13.25 x 17 prop on it. Hole shot was what I expected and according to a GPS we planed out at 25-26 mph.

I was wondering if this is typical of the setup I have. The ignition was replaced by previous owner with a CDI system and the tach is not operational at this time so don't have the rpm to judge the prop engine combo.

I grew up with a 1967 Glaspar Avalon 16' with the same Merc 1250. I don't remember what pitch prop we had on it, but it would top out closer to 42mph.
