After just turning 49 and growing up it Glastron boats I have found one locally that has sparked my interest. Even though it is a piece of my history and a much older boat I still want to start with it before moving on to a newer model. It is or I have been told a 1976 V179 with an inboard outboard 140 mercrusier. Trouble is I am not sure how accurate this is or what its value is. I would greatly appreciate any information or tips you can share with me at this point before purchase. It is in fair shape with what only appears to be cosmetic repairs, seat covers and some hair line cracks in the top sun exposed fiberglass. The engine has recently had a new alternator, starter and distributer installed. That?s all I have at this point so please help if you can.
Sincerely,
William Plumb

Re: Glastron Boat Information

classicglastron.com has original brochures on their site with a ton of information. The value of the boat depends greatly on it's condition. You definatly want to check the deck and transom for any rot. Rot can be expensive and very time consuming to replace, thus turning a "cheap" boat into an "expensive" one.
