Hi all
I am looking at a 1979 glastron Hpv-160.
The floors are soft and I imagine the stringers are toast also. It belongs to a guy I work with and I could pick it up for a few hundred bucks with a good trailer and mercury 110 hp outboard. I think the motor is a little older than the boat he says it is a six cylinder and ran when he put the boat away 5 years ago. He fogged the motor but that seems like a long time without being run.
I am always looking for a project and I really love the glastron I have now. What am I getting into? Does anyone know the performance of these boats? The classic glastron website says it is a high performance hull but has no specs on performance.
Thanks

Re: Glastron Hpv-160

My guess is that it is based on one of the runabout hulls, so performance should be decent. check out the 1980 SSv 163 and 167. The stringers shouldn't be too bad. I would say for a few hundred, if the motor is good, wouldn't be a bad deal. I have a lot more than that in the rebuild of my '76 T-166.
