Glastron MX 175 Dimensions on Trailer / Capacity

I have compared all models of similar size and have decided that the Glastron MX 175 with the optional 4.3 Volvo Penta is the best choice for me.

Question 1. I need to know the length of the MX 175 using a folding tongue trailer. I would like to store the boat in my two car garage without: sacrificing the other slot. (19 feet). I have received conflicting numbers.

Question 2. The Maximum Capacity quoted is 1000 lbs (454 kg). If I opt for the larger engine, does the capacity increase?

You'll never fit that boat in a 19ft garage straight. My 16ft Glastron has a swing tongue and I'm still only about 2" from the door.....19ft garage depth.

Thank you for your response. I was told by the local dealer that my particular model was 19ft with the I/O down and turned all the way to one side. I saw the boat at the Fort Lauderdale boat show last week and did not have a tape measure. It just did not look like it was going to come in at 19ft.

Only way I could see you have a chance is if you can find a really short ?custom? swing trailer.... usually they hinge well out in front of the winch stand.

If the boat is 19ft bang on, and the tongue hinge is within that length you -might- get lucky. I've never seen a swing tongue that far back though (ie... rearward of the bow tip).

Last resort, perhaps a removeable trailer tongue is something to consider. Would you store your boat in the garage after each use, or only during the off-season? For the latter, a removeable tongue may not be too much of a nuisance.

Thanks again for suggesting the swing away and the removable tongue trailer. I have seen the swing away but figured I would have to get a custom built unit. The other option with the removable tongue sounds promising. I have never seen one but I will search some more to see I can find a few dealers that carry them.
