I am looking for a Trailer for my project Glastron Swinger V-187. It is 17ft with a Ford 302 in it, I am not sure if I need a single to double axle.
Where is the best place to get new or used?
Thanks

Single Axel should suit you fine. I would look at some used trailers online here and boat trader, boats Us. Try the Classic Glastron Web site. Good luck.

Agree on the single axle for that boat. Biggest thing is correct tire size/rating. Would prefer 14-15" but if unavailable, a 13" with a load range C in TS rating (I think TS is the proper terminology for....Trailer Special, Not P rated...sidewall to soft and not available in C rating) probably would be ok, but that depends upon speed and road conditions.

I am, and have been most of my life, a tire nut and for me you can't get a big enough tire under your boat........well within reason.......no "Monster Mudders" on my boat trailer. Grin, naw this isn't a grin, it's a full fledged LOL; naw not that either a full fledged LMAO!!!!!

But those Dilly Trailers of the 60-70's with 8" tires (so that they and the fenders would tuck up under the boat and reduce the overall width) and an I-O on top going down the highway at 60 mph + after it just came out of the salt water used to drive me insane......especially since it has probably been half a dozen years since the hubs have seen grease and back then Bearing Buddies didn't exist (did they?).

No help, but our first boat was the v-187 swinger with a 140 Johnson. Great boat for smooth water. Not very good in any rough water.

Like he said he is looking for a trailer, not a performance report. Snide remark on my part, but how does your answer (snide remark) have anything to do with his question?????

I agree with Mark, FWIW......

I have a 17foot Glastron CV16 and it's a single axle with 13" tires with the TS rating......it pulls like a dream. I purchased off of Craigslist and was able to find a gem amongst the "crap" there....take a look at what people have to offer in that realm as well. You may find a rare boat "free with trailer" type of deal! This is basicly how I got my trailer AND boat :D
