I realized after doing some of the interior including the deck that I now have to do the transom. I removed the engine today and tried to remove the other section (what is this called)

I thought I had a manual with the sets I have, but did not find it. Is there one or can someone help with some instructions?

If you are talking about the Y pipe there are a couple of allen bolts on the bottom and then one really long 9/16" bolt under the pipe. Once that is off you will have eight bolts I believe on the transom plate.

Check out my thread and you will see me take it on and off a few times.

Re: Glastron v210 Adventura Restore

Well after some time I am resuming my project.
What I have done so far

1. remove old transom

2. sanded away all glass

3.Where do I go.

It has been a challenge...a great difference between what seems to be easy to do when you read the threads and what happens when you actually do it. Whew. I have completed the sanding.

This is what I need to know:

a. Around the hole for the kimble there seems to be very thin and would like to know if I can apply a piece cut strand and glass across the entire transom before applying the plywood. If so, how many layers and epoxy or resin

IT appeared that there was some glass and no cut strands between the transom skin and the plywood. I sanded almost a 1/4" glass before I reached the matted area (see image 2 and 3) IT was easier to remove the plywood from the transom. (image 1 and 2) and it looked like there was very little glue.

b. What type of glue can I use to attach the plywood to the skin?

I used PL glue. I have pictures of it in my thread.

Another quick question: Do I use epoxy or polyester resin for stringer and deck?

This is what I need to know, I asked earlier but did not get a response:

You really need to read some threads. Mine will give you everything you need to know. Including the skin that goes on the transom. I have a video there that can help.
