I have a glastron ssv-178 that the trailer axle has some issues on. lot of people that will rebuild one for me ask for the weight limit required but I have no clue how heavy my boat is. sn is gla86129m78e. thanks in advance for any info or a point in the right direction.

Re: glastron weight and year help

looks like either an 80 or 83. those are the only two I see with the ssv178. and both show at 950lbs. Thanks a lot!

Re: glastron weight and year help

As per your Hull Identification Number your boat is a 1978 however Nada does not list that model for that year but it appears in the 1980 listing.

Your hull weight 950
Add your motor, fuel, battery, anchor, toys etc

You probably need an axle rated at least for 1500 lbs and I would go for a 2000 lb rated axle.
