Picture this... You are out fishing for Catfish at night. Can't see a thing, so you set up a light/lantern. Then you have bugs flying all around. How cool would it be if I took Rustoleums Glow-Max paint (8-12 hour glow time) and painted the cockpit areas with it. Then, I could fish all night, and the glow will light up enough to see what I am doing, without ruining my night vision. Maybe the bugs won't be attracted to me. I'd sure get some odd looks at the pier, or while towing home though.

Glow as compared to throwing out light might be two entirely different things ......... I do not suspect you will get the results you are looking for. Now with LED's you might have the answer for "lighted" time. LED's use fractional energy.

It may glow for 12 hours but it will be too weak to be of any use other than just seeing where your hull is in the dark. That being said, phosphorescent paint, along with most mono, will glow like a merf under a black light.

Long live the disco boat.:D
