What type of glue should I use to install a new sound blanket in my cowling?

I used vinyl top adhesive. It's a contact type glue. Coat both surfaces, let it get tacky and install insulation. It hold like a champ. I heard that 3M spray adhesive is good too.

Look for 3M super adhesive -- stuff used to install hood pads in cars. An auto parts store would carry it, or have their own brand. Mechanics call it "snot", which will tell you something about its characteristics. Apply to both surfaces and let it set up for a few minutes, then put the pad in place exactly where you want it to stay.

I'd second the 3M Spray. I've used it on a headliner, and that stuff is STRONG (and fairly easy to apply) Make sure both surfaces are very clean, and it'll stick forever.
