Is Gluvit paint suitable to be used as a primer? I have an epoxy finish that I need to paint, would this be okay to use as a base/primer coat?

Thank you!
-John

Re: Gluvit Paint Question

I used gluvit in this fashion to and seal up crazing. I wouldn't recommend it. I went on really thick and caused brushstrokes htat had to be sanded out. Once cured it doesn't sand easily and really gums up sandpaper fast.

Re: Gluvit Paint Question

Johnshan1,

Not as a primer. Gluvit is designed to be used to repair hulls, not coat them.

Re: Gluvit Paint Question

We thank you for your replys! The next question is, would Z-Spar be a good paint to use on the interior? Bare epoxy of course. I am not sure if they make a primer or not.

Second option is to use a Pettit Primer and then the Pettit paint over it.

Our goal is to find a paint that hides minor surface imperfections while providing a decent finish.

Thanks!

-Heather/John
