Gluvit Questions???????

Hello All,
While I was prepping my 14' aluminum V for a primer coat, I noticed a few small (TINY) holes in the hull. I have purchased a quart of gluvit and I am planning on applying it this Friday. I want to put two coats on just to be on the safe side. My question is do I have to use the entire quart in one setting? The directions say to mix a full can of Gluvit catalyst to Gluvit resin. But then it also gives a mix ratio of 5:1 this would lead someone to believe that it can be mixed to amounts that are needed rather than using the entire quart. Since an entire can covers 25-30 square feet, and I only need to cover about 10 square feet. Seems like a waste to mix the enire can. With the area of coverage that I need, how much should I mix? Also what can I mix it in? Can I go to a local home improvement store and use a regular paint tray? Any answers are appreciated! Thanks, Raidercoop!

Re: Gluvit Questions???????

mix only what you need, your local marine or automotive paint supply store should have cups with mixing ratios right on the cup they are very cheap............

Re: Gluvit Questions???????

xtraham is right any auto paint supply will hand you a mixing cup.

I have used gluvit on my aluminum boats and 1 coat is really pretty thick and very adaquate. The gluvit creeps and flows so be sure to only mix a small amount (smaller than you think you need) then you can always go back if you think a 2nd coat is needed. The surface wants to be clean and preferably bare aluminum for adhesion. It seems like it takes forever to dry (over 24 hours).
