Further to the other thread on this engine. We have the water-cooled manifolds, a two into one dry riser which has water passages at the top to inject water from the manifolds into the exhaust pipe-work. The only thing we are missing is a riser or elbow to connect the dry riser to the exhaust hose. The gasket is 4 1/4 inches square and has slots for the water and a central square hole for the exhaust. Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier of this particular fitting. Thanks. Peter

Your saying it is a GM 6.5L V8 diesel? The only 6.5L marine diesel I can find is Swedish 6.5L which was based on the GM 6.6L. As far as the part your looking for sounds like a regular exhaust manifold to elbow gasket. Could you post a pic of what your looking for to give us a better idea.

Also any other info which could help, boat, year, serial nuber and model number

The engine is an ex US military truck engine with third party marinising parts. It is a later rather than earlier engine. Boat is a UK cruiiser from the 60's. Semi D. I'll take some pics later today. Cheers, Peter

Here's a couple of pics of the 'dry riser'. I need a water injection elbow/riser to fit the top with a 4 inch outlet. The gasket size is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4. If anyone can point me in the direction for ordering one I'd be most grateful.
Thanks,
Peter

Looked up several vendors and trying to locate specs was the issue, as you probably know. Most just list the item for size and type of engine and list it is a four inch. It will cost a bit more but you will get what you need if you contact a custom marine exhaust manufacture. The ones I'm finding here leads me to the 12-1500 dollars (730-920 BP). Most all items are being made from stainless steal for durability and corrosion resistance.

Many thanks for your efforts, but I'm not looking to pay that sort of money. I'd rather make up my own mild steel unit if the right piece of kit can't be found.
Cheers,
Peter

Totally understand Peter, I was hesitant with the price my self. Still might be worth a call just in case my findings are off. Either way I'll keep my eyes open.

All the best

Penninsular diesel Has what you need.

They have been using GM 6.2 and 6.5 diesels on marine applications for a very long time.
I last needed their services years ago - ordered a high volume marine water pump for my truck.

DO an internet search and they should pop up.
