19' V hull bowrider, Mercruiser 888, no power steering, smart tabs
I have a couple props I run on this boat, a 14 1/4 x 19 Hustler and a 14 1/4x 21 Michigan. The Hustler is my primary prop as I much prefer the way it holds the water, unfortunately the extra cup/rake seems to make right hand turns much harder than the Michigan. I've tried to adjust the torque tab, but with minimal effect. Both props have me in the 4200-4300 RPM range and run top end within 1mph of each other on GPS. Hole shot on the Hustler is a bit better than the MI, but both are acceptible.
Top speed is not my top concern, being able to plane at lower speeds would be nice as well as cruise with a boat full of people. Also, being able to turn right without feeling like I'm going to break something would be nice.
Would a 4 blade like a Solas Amita 4 help me out? What pitch in a 4 blade would likely work best?
