Last week I was sitting on the beach recovering from a dive just watching the sea rolling in. Unusualy there was quite a large amount of surf and the breakers were about 2 ft high.

I was sitting there watching a 15ft boat with a 75 outboard with 5 passengers come up to the beach. It was clear he was going to drop of his passengers then proceed to the ramp.

About 5 yards from the beach he throws out an anchor! oh oh I say, this is going to end in tears as he puts the boat broadside to let his passengers of. Sure enough, next wave capsizes the boat.

I run off to help drag the boat out but by this time it's full of water and wont budge. Flotsam everywhere and this boat is getting pounded and the guy is doing a headless chicken impression. I jump on and raise his engine. I did something right, downhill for a while now.

A nice audience has gathered and we are struggling to turn the boat. I know, I will get my little jep. I run, get the jeep, tie bow to towbar and proceed to sink jeep into the soft sand. Sea water now running up the exhaust pipe. Wheels spewing sand everywhere! Stuff the boat what about my jeep. With some rope and plywood manage to dig the jeep out and move it out of harms way.

Back to thge boat. Boat is now more onto the beech. We decide to pull it all the way into the sea and float it out. Battery has now been disconnected. With several people helping we manage to float it onto the trailer and slowly pull it out of the water - complete with a few hundred gallons of water and a few tons of sand.

With a hose down at the top we manage to start the engine and return everything back to normal.

Took me ages to clean my jeep though
