going slow

i have a 96 150 johnson on a 18 ft bass boat and i need to take my mom and dad for a slow crusis around a chain of lakes this weekend and am looking for tips on how to keep this thing running good at a really slow speed for several hours i'm putting on a 19 prop but don't think that will help much any tips will be tried thanks joel

Every 60 degree motor I ever had idled VERY well - endlessly. What is it that yours does or does not do?<br /><br />More info please!

i really haven't idled it that long i was just wondering if it would be a problem the knocking i posted on went away to thanks for your input on that if they idle for long times i wont worry about it thanks Dhadley <br /><br />Joel

you should be able to idle that around the lake 10,000 times - regardless of prop... <br /><br />dont fix what ain't broke!
