Going to call in the experts!feel like a complete falure over stupid water pump!

Hi<br />followed all the instructions manuals but i have given up!!.<br />Took the whole water pump apart today and reassembled with new impropella and gaskets(had to cut my own as with this bank holliday no chance) put it all together with gasket seal and same old thing.No water from pee hole engine getting hot.<br />wacked the lower unit of again to investigate and found water everywhere (but the engine),gear oil i think ,that must have come up out of the drive shaft (seals mabey) and the impropella with no fins left!!!!!!!!.<br />Can anyone just put me out of my misery and tell me what i did wrong!!!!.<br />I am a hands on bloke and usally give anything a try but this has done my head in!! :confused: <br />Think its time to give this lemon for someone with experiance.<br />Thanks for all the help anyway

That sounds like your lower unit's blocked. If there was water getting to the impeller then it wouldn't have shredded.

a few things to lool for, make shure the intake is clear up to the inlet of the pump housing,the correct gaskets,and the impellor is installed in the correct direction. hope you are using a manual.it will help.something isn't allowing H2O to enter the pump housing..good luck T

also dont use gasket sealer on WP's use marine grease. Get the right gaskets, it sounds like somethiings blocking the water as other Guys just mentioned.<br />If you cant get a Tech to help you here try themarinedoctor.com

It may help to put the flush muffs onto the lower unit with it removed from the motor and the waterpump off.Lightly grease the muffs to get a better seal (a thin film is all you'll need). Hold the muffs on manually as tight as you can with the water turned on full and see if the pressure will shift any blockage. you'll get awful wet doing it though...

Tony, you might want to post the engine type, model and serial number and we will have a much better chance of helping you.
