Hey Guys,
I just completed my first compression test on my 1991 Force 2 stroke 50 horse. Does anyone know the correct pressure it should be reading? I'm getting just about 150 on both cylinders. Is this good? That seems too high ( if thats even possible).

1. Fully charge battery.
2. Start engine and warm her up.
3. Remove all spark plugs and disconnect fuel line.
4. Pull the emergency kill switch so it is in the off position.
5. Screw guage into #1.
6. Turn engine over until reading on guage stops increasing or 5 times, whichever is more.
7. Repeat #5&#6 for all cylinders.

I got this from another thread, is this how your preformed the compression test? 150 is the highest I have heard but not by more than 25psi.

Yup, that's exactly what I did! I can't imagine this engine having that much compression, I hope its up to spec!

well if 150 is too high, run straight gas thru it, that will take care of that high compression real fast.

NEVER run straight gas thru the system. The compression should be with a good guage #150-155 The best is that they are even. Some guages will read 120# and that's good.As long as they are the same. If it read #90 on both. Then worry about getting it looked at.Even cheap comp guages shoud read at least #120.J
