Guy says he has $4000 worth or reciepts from lower end and upper end rebuild since last year. If this is the case is $2800 worth it for a 19 ft in fairly good shape. Says all thats wrong is a disconnected wire on the choke. But it starts if you manually put the choke on with the cover off. Let me know and if it's a good deal I will buy it today.

Have you driven the boat?
For at least an HOUR?

Have you done a compression check on engine?
Had a mechanic go thru it?
Have you seen the receipts?
And how would you know they are for that engine?Have you had an expert check out the hull, stringers, and transom of the boat?

Why hasn't that wire been reconnected?

These engines, AND boats have a pretty dark past.
I own a Force and I would run away from this one.

The price also seems steep.

Well I read all the posts and still bought the Force 125. I hope I get lucky. Here in NJ it's hard to find something affordable that has a steering wheel. I went out on the boat at lunch and the motor seems to run great, pee holes are just a bit more than warm but then again I have sensitive skin :) ......well wish me luck...(or the Force be with me). I guess worse case I am out $2800 and I will be in the dog house.

With all due respect lonewolf5347, a 1994 120 is a completely different animal than an 85 125hp.

ChrisN-- Treat it well, do your maintenance, do your decarb spring and fall, install a water pressure guage. Install a tach if you don't have one. At the first sign of something not quite right, get it checked out.

And you won't be out $2800. If the engine should depart you, you will still have a boat and trailer, and a lot of parts to sell on ebay. Just jazzin ya a little.

Good Luck with the rig and uh........don't forget the plug. :)
