First post here. Great forum and hope to share my experiences with what will hopefully be my first boat!

I've found a dealer that has a brand new 2007 252 with a 496 MAG and Bravo 3. It comes with a fully optioned Eagle trailer. Options include: bow and cockpit covers, bimini, swim platform lighting, leather steering wheel, stereo remote on transom, upgraded carpet, bow filler cushions, trim tabs, hatch actuator, dual battery, and SS tread. Maybe some other little items that as well. Most noticeably missing is the fire extinguishing system and docking lights.

Anyways, I've skinnied him down to $64K for the boat and trailer + tax. In all of your experiences, how good of a deal does this sound? Do you think I can push a little harder still? I'm now dealing with the dealership owner through the sales manager. Apparently he's going to ask Cobalt for some help on the deal. My original offer was $64K out the door.

Input??

Stick with your original offer. Will be a good deal and chances are they need to sell a last years model boat...even though it is new. Plus with the high gas prices...boat sales on the whole are down.

Congrats on your new COBALT. The 250 is one of my favorite boats to drive. The power pkg. you have is a great engine.
