Hello All,
I am new to this forum and am interested in purchasing a boat. A fellow I know is selling an aluminum 15 fishing boat (I don't know the year, but it appears to be in good condition) with a DT-20 Suzuki outboard (20 hp). He hasn't run the motor in about 3 years, and is not sure that the gas was drained out of the carb. Anyhow, the boat and motor comes with a trailer that appears to be homemade, although he claims that it is commercial (I noticed that it didn't have rubber bumpers but wood covered in some kind of carpet, so I suspect that it is homemade; not sure though).
If the motor starts and runs, what is it worth? It is 1977-1979 for that model, I believe. The entire package including the boat, motor, trailer, all controls, gas tank, lights, etc is $1250. What do you all think?
I like the fact that it is an aluminum boat as opposed to fiberglass, but I am thinking the the 20hp motor is a bit underpowered.
Any advice would be appreciated especially with respect to the Suzuki motor, as this would be my first boat...
Cheers,
Mick
