Carb cleaner in an aerosol from Wal-Mart, but it'll take paint off also.

Kerosene with a parts brush, use a container, let parts soak a bit, use a parts brush on them and rinse. Repeat if necessary.

That stuff that Safety-Kleen distributes to their shop customers is Mineral Spirits. You can get a can of it at Home Depot, called paint thinner. They have it both in oderless and stinky. The problem with it is disposal.

Mineral Spirits is a type of paint thinner but it is not necessarily going to be called paint thinner. The stuff I buy is in the painting section of my local store but it is called Mineral Spirits. True paint thinner is much stronger.

Purple Power found at Wal-Mart. I use that stuff to get the oil stains off of my driveway whenever I see them. It also has many other uses that you can see on the back of the bottle. A gallon jug costs me around $5, and can be found in the automotive section. It cleans grease and oil away effortlessly. It also degreases car engines in 5 minutes.

Oderless Mineral Spirits $8/9 a gallon at Walmart..(or anywhere for a dollar more)
Only thing I have used to degrease for years. Parts in an old wash/sink thingy.
Used gets drained into a used MS jug after a overnight settle, as its still good to go...Third holds the crud, then just recycle
And yes, carb cleaner to strong..there goes the paint
