Can anyone point me to a good set of tune up instructions for an outboard? I'm sure there is / are some around on this board, but I can't seem to locate them. The motor is a 1991 Merc XR4 Black max 150.

Obviously, spark plugs, but any other pointers would be apprecaited.

The best set of tune-up instructions would be in the Mercury service manual for your engine. Otherwise -- tune up means different things to different people. To some, it means installing a new set of plugs. To others, it means lower unit lub change, fuel filter, oil and filter change (four-strokes), impeller replacement if its not been done in a couple years (or ever). And lastly, carb rebuilds if that has not been done in several years (or ever). Link & sync is always a good thing to check (provided you have the manual).
