An oldie but a goodie....

This has been around, but these guys were not just commercial watermen, or Coast Guard watermen.
There were a lot of regular boaters, too.

They did not wait for some Gov to tell them to do it. They just did it.............

And I bet some boats had 'underpowered' motors', or the hull gave them 'wet rides'.

I don't know the numbers, but I know this was the biggest water evac ever, and I wish I was there......

500,000 people in 9 hours! Unreal! As we have seen here in Queensland, disasters bring out the very best in people. 'Life' gets suspended while the important stuff gets done.

imho, that's how boaters are. always willing to help others. even if it puts their vessel in possible harms way. boaters are like that...

Many disasters bring out the best in people. Some don't. 9/11 clearly brought out the best and in numbers that are hard to comprehend!
