Google Toolbar Embedded in I.E.

New computer arrived last week with an unwelcome surprised, a Google toolbar is embedded in every Internet Explorer window, just below the standard I.E. toolbar. I guess this is the product of a Lenovo+Google collaboration of some kind because the Google toolbar also features a permanent Lenovo logo. Any idea how I get rid of this Google/Lenovo toolbar/advertisement?<br /><br />Fwiw, I’ve noticed more and more 3rd party s/w arrives with Google or Yahoo toolbars either embedded or with the option to embed the toolbar when the application is installed.

Control panel, Add/Remove programs, find the Google crap thing and uninstall.

What!?! You don’t want a search engine embedded inside of a search engine embedded inside of a search engine…<br /> <br /><br />Thanks, it’s gone. Now back to my networking issues…<br /><br />Bob- that’s how I removed the google desktop, didn’t see anything there for removing the toolbar. Maybe I orverlooked it?!?<br /><br />Thanks to both of you guys!!!

I am running IE 7 and you can choose your search provider. It has some nice features such as the zoom feature. I am kinda a Google search person and I tend to like the results better.... personal preference I guess.

Bob - I like and use Google search almost exclusively. I also use Gmail, so my homepage is set to Gmail which has a Google search feature on it. And with Google desktop there is a Google search feature below in the task tray. And with the Google tool bar there is yet another Google search feature hanging below the I.E. status bar. Too many Google search windows, only need one.<br /><br />I loaded Firefox. And what is there embedded on the right hand side of the tool bar?!? You got it, GOOGLE SEARCH!!!<br /><br />You know it must be getting lonely for Yahoo search.<br />

What happened to clicking on view, then toolbars, then unselect it?

Hey WIT, you're right! Well, can't unselect the search function, but it is possible to click on 'view', 'toolbars', and 'customize' and then click and drag it off the toolbar.<br />
