Its got a Vortec 350, 4 speed auto(not electronic OD) 75K and mint, one owner, well maintained, 2wd, posi, loaded SLT model and black w/ custom wheels/tires/Borla exhaust and a K&N airfilter. Looks like owner did all to make it nice :) . It's pretty darn fast too and I got it for CHEAP! Any hints, weaknesses on this model? I've had plenty of Chevies/GMC's before. Also dealer insdtalled new rear diff bearings(were howling), did alignment, brake job and rotation due to shimmy and pull when I got it. Planning on all synthetics soon, all fluids now crystal clear. Also got warranty. Gettin bout 13 mpg now, anything else I can do (excpet keep my foot out of it) to do better? Does great burnouts!!! Thanks!

13 mpg is about right. The only real problems they had were with the 4wd (so n/a to yours). I would use seafoam or a good top end cleaner and change out the fuel filter. They were slightly prone to carbon build up.

Be cautious with the synthetics.... you may discover alot of oil leaks.

good luck with it.

Another common problem with those engines is that the intake manifold gaskets are prone to fail. Typically they will tend to leak in the front and/or back of the intake where they meet the heads.

Belt tensioner and idler pullys are also weak spots.

And on the steering linkage, the idler arms are famous for wearing out.

Bought a 99 Yukon last summer and had to have the intake manifold gaskets replaced. Mine has 53K miles on it and looks like new. No other problems so far. Agree on the 13 mpg city & I get 17 on the road.
