Today a guy at work gave me a SS prop for free. It is about the same diameter as the prop I have now on my boat. What kind of performance can I expect from this new prop in comparison to my current setup.
My current setup:
1977 Sea Ray srv187
Weight of boat: not sure
Motor/outdrive: mercruiser 165hp I6/ one drive
Prop: 14.5" aluminum 3 blade, 19P, not much cup to the blades.
WOT RPM's w/ 4 adults + gear: 4050
smart tab equipped
-Boat now runs great good holeshot decent cruise and top speed. My WOT spec is 4100-4300 so I'm right in the money right now especially with me and my Lady on board. I would go try it this weekend but I'm leaving for vacation and the river I boat at is super flooded.
This new prop is a completely different design, its hub-less, and requires a different thrush washer. Also the rear of the blades are flat rather than rounded. What kind of performance should I expect? And whats with the hub-less design. Seems like it could cause some serious damage if I were to smack a log...
Thanks, Here's some pics of the new prop. as well as one of my current prop.
