A few years ago I took the boat, motor and trailer to the local feed store and had the whole package weighed on the "drive-on" scale...the bm&t weighed in at 3150 lbs., trailer attached to the tow vehicle. My question is, there is a tongue weight, and I honestly don't know what that might be, probably around 300lbs, maybe less...my question is, should the tongue weight be added to the 3150lbs?

yep... tongue weight reduces the weight on the trailer axles, and increases it on the vehicle's rear axle. (technically also reduces the weight on the front of the tow vehicle)

Easy way to think of it... take the vehicle out of the equation. If your vehicle disappears, the tongue is going to land on the scale with a nice loud THUNK, and the weight on the scale is now going to increase by the amount the vehicle was supporting.

I have also done that to find the weight of my boat and trailer , i unhooked it from the truck and left it on the scale then rehooked after it was weighed
