Well after lettin a few of my buddies know I was lookin for a newer truck(settled on Ford)F150 ideally, I show up at work site and one of the guys says there's an F250 he knows about goin for cheap! Here's the deal: ladies husband died, 94 F250 4x4 60K ORIG. miles, diesel(don't know which one)A/T, mint garaged, loaded and single cab I believe, says goin for $7000 but WILL go much lower, she just wants it gone. So say I get this for 5-6K,(I'll def. pay FAIR price, not takin advantage) sounds fairly good to me. Am getting her ph.# and looking ASAP.. I orig. wanted one with Super Cab, but I may drive for awhile and see how it works out OR sell at what I think may be a pretty good profit. Let me know if anyhting specific to look for on this model. Thanks, Heinz

Heinz, '94 was a transition period for the ford diesel from idi to di engines.
The idi engines are ok but lack power unless it has a turbo on it.
I have a '89 with the Banks kit on it and it is great, but a buddy of mine has one just like it only non-turbo and it is different as night and day in power.
If it is a di engine, you are getting it at a good price.

Heinz

If you can get that truck for 7k you gotta jump on it. My dad has a 92 IDI non turbo with 70k on it, manual trans and extended cab that he has been offered as much as 11k for recently. if you dont buy the truck please e-mail me the phone number of the lady so that I may call her. as SBN said 94 was an odd year the 7.3 came in 3 forms. IMHO all are OK. In order of preference would be 1. DI 2 IDI turbo and finally IDI naturally aspirated. I have put about 20k of the 70k on my dads truck towing and I wont complain about the IDI non turbo power. Let us know what you do.

Matt

Imo, if your lookin at buying it to drive a while and then sell at a profit it may well bite you in the derrier. If your looking for a good truck for the money I think your in the ballpark. The ride will be stiff as a 250 should be. This truck was not built as a grocery getter it was built to be a real authentic work vehicle, roufgh toufgh and built to pull. Don't let greed get ya!!

No not greed, I need a ride and it s a good deal, low mileage, clean and gets good mpg and I MAY keep it thus longevity, plus I NEED a truck again, gettin tired of doin dump hauls in 92 XJ AND my 15 yr old daughter is gettin XJ this year. Im not ever buyin new either. I just want/need GOOD relaiable vehicle, and it gets as good mpg as Jeep AND it s also 4x4. If I DONT need it yeah Ill resell. Heinz :)

In my opinion you should look to make sure it's a powerstroke first(direct injection). If it is hop on it.Even if it's an IDI I would think about it really hard.In any case if you have a bit of time to do some research check out here

http://pages.prodigy.net/stevebaz/_import/pages.prodigy.net/stevebaz/index3.html

In the tips and tricks section he has tips for buying a used powerstroke diesel. Also check here

http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbthreads/

Here you will find The Diesel Stop forums. I have found them to be very informative when working on my 97 powerstroke. :D

I think I'd pay 7k tommorrow. I've been looking for that truck to replace my F150 just because when I use my truck(not every day) I need a work horse and the 250 is a tank. My concern for myself is that if you don't use a diesel frquently they rot from the inside.

Some more info on diesel, it is a turbo diesel. I think a 7.3(all that was turbo that year/1994 I think), 4x4, approx. 60K and babied, owner just used to tow 5th wheel a few times a year, has been driven a few thousand miles last 2 years. All maint. recepits. Will prob. see it tonight :)

Saw it, MINT just dirty from sittin and batts dead, told her how to jump, etc. Told her to call me when batts good. IF it were crew/ext cab I'd have put money down then. Heinz :)
