repowered my 36 contender with four new 300 E-tecs.had four 250 e-tecs figured 200 more hp wouldn't hurt. tops out in smooth water at 125mph.not bad with a 10thousand pound boat +600 gallons of gas + gear

had it at the key west tourney kick off fastest boat down there. team hooters thought they were bad with four 300 verados on a 32 fountain. not any more

Impressive amount of power. How long is the mortgage term for the motors, though?

Now that's FAST. Caculates out to 41" pitch props assuming 6000 RPM and 8% slip. Are those off-the-shelf or custom props?

Well, at $22,630 msrp a piece, I would hope it flies. Heck, your motors almost cost more than my house. $1800 fill-ups?!? I paid for my motor what you pay to fill your tank. Me and my Johnson 50 will just have to meander along at a whopping 27 mph (with strong tail wind). Have fun skinny...and please be safe.

Must be those E-tecs that make it so fast. Same boat with quad 300HP Merc Racing 300XS motors runs just over 80 MPH with 200 gallons of fuel on board.

He claims 92-98 MPH with four E-tec 250's and in another post it's 92 MPH. Pictures would help but then we still wouldn't know if the boat was actually his.

Just FOUR? I hooked 5 onto my 19' runabout and hit about 155 mph!!!! I had to hook two of them to the sides of the boat due to lack of space on the transom. No GPS though, just estimated based on how fast my kids flew out of the boat.

I even caught a whale trolling at that speed. I have no idea what he was doing in our small lake......

Look at all of this guy's posts. Most are incoherant ramblings about "e-tec this and e-tec that" and everything else sucks. Very strange.

I love this guy. I am anxiously awaiting his next post! On March 3, he had a 12' jon boat with an ETEC 60 that did over 70 MPH. On March 13, he had an 18 footer that does over 80 MPH with a 150 ETEC. Now as of March 19, he has a 36' Contender that does 125 with 4 ETEC 300s!

Maybe next week he'll move up to one of these 60 footers with 8 ETECs. I bet his will do about 250 MPH though.

By the way, this is NOT a photo-shopped picture. Crompton Marine in England builds them. The one shown is the bottom one in this price list (and it only does 60 knots, about 65 MPH):
