So with a lot of help from the forum, I was able to get the carrier seal replaced this weekend, hoping that will solve the oil leak. Painted the out drive and it looks like new. It had a lot of white discoloring on the top of the drive. I was thinking about adding a shower drive to cool it off on longer rides, but want to get opinions before I spend the $$$, they seem pretty expensive for a piece of tubing. Has anyone made there own......

Thanks again,

No reason you couldn't just make your own......

What engine and drive? Showers are usually only helpful with engines that produce far more HP than stock.........

It's a 350/Alpha One, I was thinking I can use some steel brake line and put some bends in it, drill some holes in it, paint it and find a way to attach it to the drive for just a few dollars. The only reason I was thinking about this is that the upper part of my drive had that white chalky look to it, so I figured I had run too long on plane and heated it up. Any reason I couldn't use steel brake line?

I would use stainless or copper. Regular steel will rust pretty quickly and clog the holes

You painted over the lime deposit. Hard water stain. Mild acid, the Werks, Lime Away and it's gone. Well, would've been gone!

While they do generate some heat, I've never seen a drive last longer because of a drive shower! Mercury doesn't even offer one. People like them cause they are shiny & look cool.
