Nice rifle, love the action and sights, even scope rings, mounts and a trigger lock came with it, as well as one 5 rd mag. Ordered two 10 rd and 1 more 5 rd mag for it last week, as well as plenty of ammo, the 223 is not terribly priced. My son and I will break it in this weekend as well as/again, his Ruger 10/22.
Hmm, I think he's coming around, he mentioned he wanted to see me shoot my dbl bbl 2.5 lb 12 ga., and Enfield(still gotta fix stock, but he watched me put a few rds thru it last time and loved the accuracy, flames, smoke and loud report. :). He could easily handle the Mini, as long as he positions shoulder correctly at bench rest....ahhh life is good!
And SO many accessories for both!! Definitely a scope for the Mini after awhile i think :)

ps, had no idea they had 6.8 mm(??) as well as my 223 and 762x39

Let us know how it goes. I almost bought one a month ago, now debating a little. The saiga or the new S&W AR15 are a little cheaper but I'm a Ruger fan and the M14 ranch is a good looking rifle. If it's anywhere near the quality of the 10/22, which I'm sure it is, that will be one very very nice gun.

yup a buddy has the saiga, shot it, is nice, BUT for me i wanted the very best, the Rugers are. Ive eyeballed this rifle off and on for 25 yrs since i was a kid, my kid duties negated that, plus divorce etc, but i could finally afford it, is just the big brother of the 10/22 i just got my son, cant wait to shoot this wknd!!

I recently traded my saiga for a beretta Px4 storm in 45 cal. The saiga was a good rifle, but not the most accurate. I love my ruger 10/22, got her all tac'd out and cheap to shoot:)

It was 7.62 x 39. If you get a saiga, I recomend using the wolf brand ammo. I got mine from cheaper than dirt (good prices). Russian gun and russian ammo, never had a jam. Also, I had put a nice bi-pod and scope on it, really good shooter. can't say anything bad about it, just not the most accurate gun I've ever had but thats always been the case with AK style guns. My SKS (yugo w/grenade launcher, same caliber) was comparable with reguards to accuracy.

Oh man! Wolf?

I shot a box of the Wolf .45 ACP through my 1911 A1. NEVER again.

That was the dirtiest ammo I've ever used. Nasty, nasty stuff. Smoky too. Some buddies, at the range, were poking fun at me wondering if I had a one off 1911 A1 muzzleloader.
