I got my stringer wood this morn. I got (2) 1 X 12" X 14', and (2) 1 X 8" X 14'. Now i have seen people use cardboard as a template for cutting the stringers and thats what i plan to do. But im just basically looking for some pointers on how to do this. I got my glass materials for glassing them down, and im planing on using the PL Poly construction adhesive to bed the stringers to avoid having the stiff joints. The wider boards are for the middle 2 stringers and the 8" ones are for the outside 2 stringers. I am going to have to cut all 4 of them to make them fit right and so that my deck will be perfectally level. I dont have the old stringers to go by as templates but i know right where the floor (deck) is going to be so im going to use that as a point of referance as to how tall the stringers need to be and i know that measurement is going to be different every couple of inches of the legnth of the stringer. Thanks to everyone that has any tips that they want to share. Ive got a few things to do before i start on the stringer placement but im really thinking about how im going to do this. Thanks again for any help you guys can give me.
