GOT THE RPMS AND INFO.. NEED THE RIGHT PROP. HELP!

HI<br />i have a 17ft aluminum boat fully rigged. It has a 30 hp mercury 1999 marathon. <br />i want a propellar that best applies for this rig. i have a 10 3/4 x 13 prop.the wot is 4900 and it should be 5500 recomended.<br /> i would like more speed. what do you recommend <br />thanks.

Probably go down to an 11 pitch and that should get your rpm up close to the recommended. With the motor closer to its peak rpm you should get a bit more speed, however you're pushing a 17' boat with a 30 HP so you shouldn't have real high expectations.<br /><br />You will get the best performance out of a stainless prop, but you'd want to get closer to your peak rpm before you decide if you need one or not.<br /><br />HTH and keep us posted...........ed

That is too much prop for that motor. If you click on props at top of page, you will see that it calls for a 10 x 10 for a starting point. According to that you have too much pitch and diameter.
