Got truck, 90 F250 460 FI - a beast!!!!!!!!!!

Was looking for just a cheap 2nd vehicle/truck for extra work I'll be doing(have 92 XJ w/ 162K on it and runs great). I looked forever and called on a 90 F250 just for the heck of it(was out of my price range) ended up getting it for $2600!!???? Old man was original owner, has maybe 95K on it and is as mint as can be!!! ANDDDDD tranny is rebuilt a few thousand ago! Motor is 460 EFI and purrrrs! Course I got money from my boat sale. Interior is immaculate, body just aboput perfect, few small scratches, Full 10000 lb factory towing pakage w/ all hookups, had ALL service done to it, smogged, oil looks brand new and doesnt smoke or leak a drop of anything! God what a pig on gas though ,,,,duhhhh 2 tanks, auto tranny w/ O/D and even better it is a supercab, tires almost new, brakes just done,room for 3 in back, totally loaded on options, NO rust, needs nothing except pwr door locks need to get fixed. I could sell it for twice what I paid I think. <br />I'd love any hints or comments on maintenance(I do my own), and of course any possible way to improve gas mileage(not holding my breath) I figure she'll get 12-13 on freeway in O/D. Keep an eye on the tie-rods if they haven't been changed , only way to get better gas mileage is to change the chip or park it

Yeah good luck with that. Had a 91 when I was a pipe layer, got 10 on a good day.

Very nice deal Heinz, and a good truck to boot. <br />You boys may want to faint at the gas mileage, but the alternative(spending 45k+ interest, ugly and don't hold up well) is less than stellar.

yup NO payments and wont drive every day, I know I can get prob 200K out of a 460 as I maintain em WELL,and Ford are tough + resale value is good

If you plan to put anybody over 4 foot tall in the back seat get a riser kit. They sell it at JC Whitney. My friends truck was exactly as you described, he had a riser. I could ride decently in the back (I'm 5'9") without my legs poking through my chest. On my truck, 89 F250, I don't have the riser and its a royal pain back there. Overall this is the best truck I have ever owned, Iwork her like a dog everytime I get in her, and she likes it.

I figure kis can all ride back there, a riser? I'll check it out! I'm 5'7 and LOVE the roominess in that rig!! What power train do you have? Geez I TAP the gas and she sails!
