My boat has an Apelco 360 fishfinder, that came with it. I am looking at purchasing a used Apelco 560, because it is GPS capable. I have two questions, 1. Is there a handheld GPS that would connect to the 560 thus allowing it to use the handheld's built in antenna? (This would allow me to use the handheld on the road, hiking etc)
2. If option 1 is not feasable, what is a good small, or low profile antenna to use on the 560? Thanks for your help.

Re: GPS Antenna

I am not familiar with these units. But just look up their specs and see if they have a NMEA input. Most external GPS units have a NMEA output and you would be able to drive the fish finder with that. You may have to buy an optional adapter cable though in some cases (from GPS vendor).

Amir
