Has anyone heard of or know of the Northstar brand? Dependable, quality, etc?

Be careful, GPS anymore is like hdtv's, anybody and everybody is into it and alot of times a good deal ends with the price.
I would certainly surf around and look for reviews before I bought, I have n't heard of them but I haven't been looking either.

Have a couple of fishing buddies that have their equipment and no complaints.
The only thing I wouldn't do is buy a dual screen. i.e. fish finder and GPS on one unit. If the screen goes out you've lost everything. I know it makes for less clutter, but ----------------------. My $.02

Northstar is one of the 6 brands that make up Navico which is a Norway based group.

B&G, Eagle, Lowrance, Navman, Northstar, and Simrad brands all manufactured and distributed under the Navico umbrella.
