GPS instalation

Hi, my question is regarding on using a GPSMAP fixed mount in an inflatable with tiller . I don't know if was on this forum but not long ago someone rigged a GPSMAP to a cooler with a small motorcycle led battery inside.
Please any suggestions will be appreciated, pictures even more,

i made a wood box cut on the sides to fit the curve of the tubes for my fish finder, i use a motorcycle battery. heres a pic, if more are needed ill dig out the camera...

3/4 pine varnished, couple of hinges and magnets countersunk for the latck to keep it from flopping open. oh, rod holders also, one for each side.
