Re: GPS / Sounder Combo

I have always found the Lowrance/Eagle SONARs made me happier than other makes, but Garmin GPSs better than Lowrance/Eagle.

That is why my last three boats have had Eagle SONARs and Garmin GPS.

One of the reasons I always had seperate units is that I always used the same GPS in my vehicle that I used in the boats.

Never had either fail on the water, but I would worry about a combo going out when I was in strange waters and leaving me with neither and in a world of hurt to get home safely.

Finally, I like to look at two full screens rather than one split.

So, I suggest that you consider two units rather than a combo; a Lowrance/Eagle SONAR and a Garmin GPS.

I think if I HAD to get a combo, it would probably be a Garmin.

Re: GPS / Sounder Combo

Thanks guys,
I only have room for one unit. I think I am leaning towards th Garmin 440S, found it for 494 to my door. The g2 vision card looks cool but for 245 that will need to wait.
