Gps To Vhf ?

My ques is if this is the way to hook up my GPS ( Garmin 3006C ) to my
VHF ( Uniden UM525 )


GPS wires are as follow.

1 red ( power )
2 black ( ground )
3 yellow ( on )
4 blue ( data in )
5 white ( data out )

VHF wires are as follow.

1 red ( not used )
2 black ( not used )
3 yellow ( nema in - )
4 orange ( nema out -)
5 white ( nema in + )
6 green ( nema out + )
7 blue ( ex. spk. - )
8 brown ( ex. spk. + )

Is this correct
gps #4 to vhf #5
gps #5 to vhf #6
vhf # 3&4 to #2

I'm not sure but I think it goes this way. Not 100% sure.

First I do not know your radio or GPS.
No it will not work that way.
Your GPS DATA OUT will go to one of your VHF DATA IN lines. (NMEA IN)
Your VHF Data out will go to a chart ploter if you have one.

You need to look thru the manual of both the GPS and VHF.

Looks as if you VHF has two Channels for NMEA.
One is for NMEA 0183 input from a GPS and the other NMEA 0183 output for a chart plotter

Besides wiring it right you also have to match the Format for both devices
Buad rate and format.

I would think this would be spelled out in both books.

For sure when the GPS is transmiting the (DATA OUT) it has to go to the
VHF RECIEVE LINE (NMEA IN)

on vhf model uniden um525

white nema 0183 in +
green nema 0183 out +
yellow nema 0183 in -
orange nema 0183 out -

King mustang, once its wired you must configure your gps to communicate
with the vhf.

This wireing order worked out. Also had to turn on channel 1 on GPS for nema output to send signal to VHF.
