Does anyone have this set up (roller).. I bought used and it wants to fishtail.
The only adjustment seems to be sliding the tandems.. I know the whole procedure with the scale for tongue weight but if anyone has this set up and can tell me where the tandems ate positioned I can save alot of time and trouble..
Thanks in advance

Re: Grady White 228 & Venture 5400/23 Question

My 226 is sitting on a Loadrite roller trailer and it pulls very well.

From the ball to the bow stop is roughly 6'2" and from the ball to the center of the tandem is roughly 19'6"

thanks.. Mine is set up exactly the same way but the 228 has the gill bracket so all of that weight is shifted rearward.. Which I think is the cause of my problem.

Sounds like you have to move the axles back a couple of inches :(

That is probably right,, When I get it back on the trailer I am going to see if I can get her moved forward any more by moving the front rollers together and elevating the keel enough to get more forward positioning of the boat.
After that, only thing to do is move those tandems
Thanks all.. Was just hoping to be able to do this without having the boat on the trailer and having to jack it to make adjustments

Do you have a hardtop and the Aux tank installed?

If you have the aux tank I'd fill it and see how the trailer behaves. A full aux tank should compensate for the O/B on the bracket or at least get your very close.

No I don't have the aux tank so that won't do it.. I do have the hardtop. But the aux tank was a great Idea.
