But I don't know a damn thing about fishing. I used to not care for it at all, but after his funeral when we were at his house, my nephew was fishing in a pond near his house. So, I went out and helped him out...my grandfather had a tradition of spitting on the bait before casting it, so, I did it... Using a still fish technique with a nightcrawler within 30-60 seconds an alligator gar that must've been about 10 -15 pounds was all over my bait...I didn't get it up because I was using a kid's reel and I also know nothing about fishing, but basically, this is my introduction post and that moment was what got me hooked on fishing...Nothing like tossing back a cold one and then watching your cork... ;)

Anyway,

So my pawpaw gave me a 76 Chrysler Cathedral, with the "70" engine on the back which is the original motor...it runs, just not perfectly. Any advice would be appreciated, the boat is sitting at my sister's camp right now and needs to be pulled out. I have a Mercury Grand Marquis I was thinking about adding a hitch to, I don't think any modifications to the car need to be made even though I'm sure that old boat weights a good half ton.

Anyone that knows anything about the best way to get a trailer capable of towing this boat, please let me know....I am clueless and in the dark, but love to fish now....it's like, just insane, I wish I would've done it my whole life...such a relaxing feeling to be fishing there enjoying the rays and get a bite, ;-)

It always seems there are more boats than trailers.
Try ebay, local marinas, classifieds, etc.
