You should ask the paint manufacturer. Each paint has its own preferences

Re: Gravity or Suction?

Hi, besides the obvious safety precautions such as ventilated mask etc, I use a reasonably good quality HVLP gravity fed gun. Set the pressure at 50 psi on the tank and do some test spraying on an old piece of board. Play around with the 3 adjustments on the gun to get the best spray width, pressure and amount of paint. If your paint viscocity is correct, you should aim for a slight "orange peel" effect which should then flow out into a smooth finish. Do some searching on the net for low pressure spraying, there is heaps of good info out there.

It is not hugely difficult to get very good results. I taught myself to spray in an afternoon and have sprayed 3 trucks, (18 wheelers) that came out better than new. Busy preping my boat now for a paint job.

Good luck mate, the end result is definately worth the effort.

Re: Gravity or Suction?

2 qt pressure pot .. ( conventional ) 10lbs on the pot and 35ish psi for air pressure. If it were a stripe I would use a regular setup..but for full sprays pressure pot is the way to go m8.

No matter which one you use.. I suggest you adjust the Fan first..then mess with the fluid and air ( AT THE GUN ).. just a suggestion...
